If there has ever been a day that wisdom in places of leadership was wanting, this is the day! Godly wisdom, spiritual discernment and the righteous application of truth and knowledge are desperately needed in our nation, churches, schools and homes; however, we have turned away from God and rejected His Law. The decay of our cities is undisputable; the moral depravity of our youth shamelessly on display; and the folly of man seeking answers for problems God alone can answer are without question!
Wisdom from God is personified in Proverbs 8 and her voice in today’s proverbs invites us to hear and heed. Proverbs 8:14 states that God’s Wisdom is the basis of sound government.
Proverbs 8:14 – “Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom [knowledge]: I [lit. wisdom] am understanding [discernment]; I [lit. wisdom] have strength [might; power].
The strength of a nation is derived from its leaders and its success is the legacy of leaders who possess and employ godly wisdom.
Proverbs 8:15-16 – “By me [wisdom] kings reign, and princes decree justice. 16 By me [wisdom] princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth.”
Oh that God would give our nation leaders with godly wisdom, insight and 
discernment. Sadly, because the elected leaders of a nation are the essence of the character of its people—there is little hope for America apart from a national revival that begins in her churches.
2 Chronicles 7:14 – “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
