ISISThe bombings and attacks in Paris, the bewildering response of President Obama, and his administration’s undaunted goal to introduce thousands of Syrian “pro-ISIS refugees” into our nation’s cities and communities has been disconcerting for me.  Seldom at a loss for words, I have sensed an inclination in my soul to become reclusive in the face of this assault by our politicians and government officials on the religious character and moral fiber of our nation.

I am deeply disturbed by the growing threat of the Islamic State of Iraq (ISIS) and the pandering of our politicians fawning concern for refugees.  The politics and political rhetoric that Islam is a peaceful religion, especially this 21st century brand, is a lie repeated ad nauseam by liberal media and politicians whose cavalier attitude toward this political ideology under the guise of religion borders on treason.

My heart is heavy when I witness the ambivalence of average Americans who love this country, but are silent as they witness the betrayal of our nation’s constitution and our trust in elected officials and government bureaucrats.

Symbolism over Substance

I am disturbed by a world that places symbolism over substance and finds solace in responding to a worldwide crisis with temporary memorials of candles, flowers and stuffed animals.  There is no outrage; no anger; no call to action by a generation that has seared its conscience with sin and feeds a narcissistic appetite for lust, placing pleasures above principles.  America has become a nation of sheep content to graze at the trough of entitlements and rights, even as we watch the pillars of our liberties decay.

Betrayed

We have denied God.  We have rejected His Word that was the philosophical basis of our laws and government and the standard of our moral values.  For a half-century we have allowed liberal justices, educators and politicians to expel God from our schools while teachers systematically indoctrinated generations in a cesspool of humanist ideology.  We have become a people who lack the discernment to recognize the menace of evil overtaking our nation and lack the spiritual character and fortitude to withstand the assault of politicians who mock our faith and values while betraying us into the vice of an feigned religious ideology that threatens to destroy us.

Christians, its time to call upon the LORD, confess the sins of our nation, and pray for His grace.

2 Chronicles 7:14 – “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
