My apology to those who were, like me, duped into the “Water Slide” narrative regarding the “Elevation Church” out of Charlotte, NC. I have followed the Elevation Church Ministries from a distance with its multi-campus ministries and sacrilegious style of worship. I researched its extraordinary practice of what one author described as “McDonald-style” baptisms services and fell for the water slide narrative. For that, I apologize to my readers; however, the trivializing of the Christian faith and the ordinance of baptism by this Southern Baptist Church is a reality.
