A Good Friday Suggestion and An Invitation

This is your invitation to celebrate special Easter Resurrection Services with Hillsdale Baptist Church this Sunday, April 16, 2017.  We are conveniently located at the crossroads of the Veterans Expressways at 6201 Ehrlich Rd., Tampa, FL.

Sunrise Service @ 7:30 AM – Our Sunrise Service is a full-traditional service with the congregation singing the triumphant songs on the theme of Christ’s resurrection.  Hillsdale is known for beautiful, inspiring traditional music and our sunrise service will feature four beautiful choral and ensemble numbers including a beautiful arrangement of “When I Survey the Wondrous Cross”, the haunting choral piece “Who Is the Lamb?” and concluding with a triumphant choral piece titled “He is Risen!”  I have invited Pastor Brian Barber to preach a message on Christ’s suffering, His death on the Cross and resurrection.

[Note – A delicious, complimentary full-breakfast will be served in Hillsdale’s Friendship Hall following the Sunrise Service, 8:45-9:15 am].

Resurrection Service @ 10:00 AM – Hillsdale’s Fine Arts Ministry will present the music drama “He Is Risen” in the 10:00 AM service.  Several beautiful choral pieces and ensemble numbers complement dramatic portrayals and reflections of Mary, the mother of Jesus and His disciple Luke. Two featured pieces portray Christ’s agony and death on the cross… “Echoes of Golgotha” quotes Christ’s final words, “It is Finished!” and “O Blessed Cross of Calvary” paints in words and music the darkness of the world after Christ’s death.  I look forward to concluding the service with a brief challenge.

P.S. A Good Friday tradition: I have made it an annual practice to listen to a sermon titled “Sitting Down They Watched Him There”, by the late Dr. Bob Jones, Jr.  In my opinion, this is the most powerful and moving sermons on the cross I have ever heard.  You can listen to that sermon at http://www.sermonaudio.com/sermoninfo.asp?SID=480414731
