“Troubles at Home: Lessons from the Life of David”
Text – 2 Samuel 13-15
Topic – When good men do nothing.
Series –Logos: A Journey of Faith, Hope, and Love
In His infinite wisdom, God recorded in His Word both the weaknesses and failures of mankind and His eternal, immutable principles and precepts.
Pastor Smith continues his chronological series, “Logos: A Study of Faith, Hope, and Love.” Today’s message considers the consequences of David’s adultery with Bathsheba and the murder of her husband Uriah.
The focus is particularly on Amnon, the eldest son of David, who raped his sister Tamar, and Absalom, who sought revenge and commanded his brother Ammon to be killed.
David’s sin with Bathsheba sacrificed his moral authority, and he became a weak father. The overriding principle is, “Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” (Galatians 6:7c)
